Easy classic tart recipe with yummy strawberry jam filling!

Strawberry jam tarts are one of the easiest tart recipes to make and only need 3 simple ingredients - butter, self-raising flour and jam! They're perfect for making with kids or for a yummy treat when the cupboards are looking a bit bare! You can also use any kind of jam for this recipe to make it to your preferences.
My Notes:
I love jam tarts and this recipe is so simple and cheap that they're a must-try! I love making these when I haven't been shopping in a while as I always have butter, self-raising flour and jam in the cupboard! They're also fun to make and involve using your hands so do get a bit messy!
Serves: 15 Tarts
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20-30 Minutes
Allergies: Contains Dairy

Please note these are only rough nutritional facts and will depend on the specific ingredients used.

Ingredients:
85g Butter/Stork
170g Self-Raising Flour (+ Extra For Dusting)
15 tsp Strawberry Jam
Method:
Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas mark 6.
In a bowl, combine the butter and sifted flour and rub together with your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Add a few tbsp water to create a dough.
Roll the dough using a rolling pin on a floured surface until it is around 1/2 cm thick.
Using a 3.5 inch cutter, cut out circular shapes until all the dough is used.
Place each round piece into a muffin tray and carefully press down.
Add around 1 tsp of jam into each tart.
Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until the pastry is pale brown.
Enjoy!

My Tips:
You can use any kind of jam you like for this jam tart recipe, I just prefer strawberry jam!
When making your pastry dough, add 1 tbsp of water at a time until you get the right consistency. You want a dough that forms together one big ball, but is not sticky.
Use plenty of flour to dust your work surface and rolling pin so the dough doesn't stick!
Make sure you don't roll your dough too thick, as it contains self-raising flour it will thicken when cooking. I estimate around 1/2 cm is ideal. Check the picture above for reference.
Press down on the dough just enough to create the tart shape, but not so that it will stick to the muffin tin.
Make sure you don't overfill each tart with jam! If there is too much jam it will spill over the sides and burn!
